Catherine Regina (Fitzsimmons) Lapsansky
Catherine Regina (Fitzsimmons) Lapsansky, of Pittston, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family.
Born on May 5, 1951, in Mechanicsburg, PA. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School and Empire Beauty School.
She worked numerous jobs including at Leslie Fay, A Plus Mini-Mart, and TJ Maxx Distribution Center, where she retired in 2022 after more than 20 years of service.
Cathy was devoted to her family and loved to make the holiday season special for everyone. She looked forward to fishing trips with her husband and son as well as annual trips to Knoebels and the Bloomsburg Fair with her granddaughter. Cathy loved to relax with a cup of tea, often with one of the many dogs she loved over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph W. Lapsansky; her son, Joseph T. Lapsansky and his wife, Stephanie; her granddaughter, Molly Mae Lapsansky and her fiancé Mitch Burgess; sisters-in-law, Jean Lapsansky and Mary Ann Fitzsimmons; and her cousin, Martina Wilson and her husband, Bob.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Regina (Thompson) Fitzsimmons; her brother, Joseph (Gerry) Fitzsimmons and her Aunt Ruth Judge.
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 5-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 23, 2026 at 9:30am in Communion of Saints Parish, St. John the Evangelist Church, 37 William Street, Pittston, those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church Friday morning.
Private interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
