Lisa Antal, 54, of Pittston Township (Suscon), passed away peacefully at home Sunday, March 15, 2026, after a courageous 16-year battle with cancer.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on January 24, 1972, she was the daughter of Susan Reinert Hintze and the late Edward R. Hintze.
Lisa was a graduate of Seton Catholic High School, Pittston. She worked for a number of years at Techneglas and later at McDermott Real Estate Appraisals before spending the last several years at home.
Lisa was a no-frills, straight-shooting woman who loved deeply and lived simply. Her greatest joy was being “Grandma Lisa” to her beloved grandbabies, Cole and Lennon, who were truly her pride and joy. She was known for letting them stay up way too late for movie nights and indulge in as much sugar as they wanted.
She loved reading by the pool—often finishing a novel in a single day—and could easily binge an entire television series in a week, especially historical documentaries. Lisa was a fierce competitor at the card table, and everyone wanted her as their pitch partner. Her partner in crime, cousin, neighbor, best friend, and forever dinner companion, Mary Ellen O’Fier, was the lucky one. When Lisa and Mare showed up, everyone knew they meant business.
Lisa also enjoyed family trips to Keuka Lake with Dave and Chrissy, a cold Pepsi, her free slot play and scratch off tickets—where she seemed to win more often than not—and always ran the pool table. One thing she did not enjoy was the sound of grass mowing on Sundays.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Robert “Bobby” Antal, in 2022, with whom she is now reunited.
In addition to her mother, Lisa is survived by her children, Bailee Switzer (Christian), Dallas PA, and SFC Matthew Antal, Fort Drum, NY; grandchildren, Cole and Lennon Switzer; brother, Edward A. “Ned” Hintze (Stacey), Pittston Township; sister, Karen Hintze, Hughestown; mother-in-law, Janet Lucas Antal, Hughestown; brother-in-law, David Antal (Chrissy) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and amazing friends.
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William Street, Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Medical Oncology Prescription Fund, 384 Pierce Street, Kingston, PA 18704. Lisa will be remembered for her quick wit, competitive spirit, and the deep love she had for her family.
