Celia Palenski Wrazien,101, of Avoca, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Regional Hospital in Scranton. Born in Dupont on May 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Kasa) Palenski.

Celia was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, where she also attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Parochial School. She worked as a seamstress at various local garment factories.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Celia proudly displayed the license plate “Babci 4” in honor of her four grandchildren. She loved cooking and baking, especially for the holidays, and found great joy in decorating both her home and yard, with Christmas being her favorite season.
Deeply committed to her faith, Celia dedicated her time to making pierogis for local churches and was active in the Alter and Rosary Society as well as the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She will be remembered for her kindness, devotion, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wrazien, who passed away December 7, 1994; Her sisters, Lottie Zambricki, Cassie Barnak, Marcella Rygiel and, Teresa Palenski.
Celia is survived by her daughter, Bernadine Radici, and her husband James of Dupont; her son, John Wrazien, and his wife Linda of Avoca; her grandchildren, Mary Beth Zawatsky, Kenneth Wrazien, Kimberly Leff, and Keith Weinschenk; and her great grandchildren, Harry, Alice, and Andrew. Also surviving are her sister, Theresa Palenski of Dupont, and her brother, Daniel Palenski of Virginia.
Celia’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many wonderful people who helped her reach the remarkable age of 101. A special thank you goes to Dr. Martin Moran and his dedicated staff of Dupont, Dr. Matthew Stopper of Scranton, and the Superior Nurses, of Dupont, for their compassionate care and support.
A mass of Christian will be celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:00am at St. Monica’s Parish Church, 363 W. 8th St., West Wyoming, with Fr. Peter Tomczak officiating.
Friends may call for visitation on Sunday evening from 4pm-6pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning for the mass, there will be no procession from the funeral home.
A private family interment services will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dupont.
