Dr. George Falcone, 72, of Plains Twp., passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Sam N. Falcone and Geraldine Bianco Falcone.
He was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, Wilkes University, and Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
George was a practicing optometrist, providing care to the Greater Pittston Area since 1979.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law; Dr. Robert Sherbin and Dino Arcuri.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Sherbin Falcone, his daughter, Carly Smith and her husband Jeff, Plains Twp., and grandson Bennett Smith. He is also survived by his siblings; Dr. Samuel A. Falcone and wife Louise, Plains Twp., Sally Muenkel and husband Ray, Lancaster, Geraldine Arcuri, Plains Twp., his brothers-in-law; Charles Sherbin (Donna) and William Sherbin (Cynthia), uncle, Anthony Falcone (Jean), his nephew and Godson who was like a son to him, Atty. Sam Falcone, grand dog Moose, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday May 18, 2025 from 4-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday May 19, 2025 at 9:30AM in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston, those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning..
Private interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover.
