Florence Milazzo Lombardo, 81, formerly of West Pittston, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 4, 2026 at Tunkhannock Manor, where she resided.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y. on July 24, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Leo Milazzo and Margaret Aquilina Milazzo. She was a graduate of Pittston High School and received her degree in Education from College Misericordia, after which she taught elementary school for several years before starting a family.

Florence had a deep love of people, laughter, and music, and showed extraordinary kindness and generosity to everyone around her. Guided by a strong faith in God, she was a devout Christian and active member of the Italian Christian Church in Pittston. She lived with compassion and grace, bringing joy to everyone she encountered. She was effortlessly engaging, keeping others laughing and smiling throughout her life. Even during her time in nursing home care, she brought joy to residents and staff alike, leading sing-alongs to her favorite songs. She will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by the many whose lives she touched over her almost 82 years.

In addition to her parents Florence was preceded in death by her husband John Lombardo in 2000, brother Charles Milazzo, sister Verna DeFrancesco, brother-in-law Angelo DeFrancesco, and sister-in-law Eileen Milazzo.

Florence is survived by her daughters Margaret Rose Lombardo (Jeffrey Polyak), Washington, D.C., Betsy Tucker (Chris) and granddaughter Eleanor (Nora), Washington, D.C., as well as brother Sam Milazzo, sister-in-law Angie Milazzo and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, April 9th from 3-5:30PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St. Pittston. A blessing service will be held at 5:30PM with Rev. Peter Sellani officiating.

Private interment will take place in the West Pittston Cemetery.
