Frank D. Chernouskas, 82, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Embassy of East Mountain Nursing Center, Wilkes-Barre.  Born in Pittston on November 23, 1943, he was the son of the late George and Marion (Stackhouse) Chernouskas.


Frank was a 1961 graduate of Pittston High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later continued his service with the U.S. Army Reserve.  For many years, he was employed as a diesel mechanic with Lu Lac Heating Oil Company.  He later worked as a machine mechanic for the Maui Cup Corporation until his retirement in 2011.  


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, George and Thomas Chernouskas.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann Marie (Karboski) Chernouskas; his sons, Joseph Chernouskas, of Pittston, and Michael Chernouskas and his wife, Margaret, also of Pittston;  his grandchildren, Brandon, Abigail and Kaitlin Chernouskas; his daughter in law Robin Chernouskas; along with many nieces and nephews.


Private family funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Mt. View Cemetery, Harding.


Arrangements are made by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.
