Frank V. Yarasavich, went home to the Lord at age 98, on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He is now rejoined with his beloved wife of 67 years, Lottie “Dolly” and his son Kevin.

A resident of Dupont since 1960, Frank was the son of the late Anna and John Yarasavich from Lithuania, and he was the last living sibling as the youngest of ten children.
Frank grew up in Scranton PA and graduated from the Technical High School in 1946 and the Irvington New Jersey Trade School as a Tool and Die Maker in 1947. Frank performed various roles with various manufacturers in the Scranton area before his retirement from Gould Battery. Born a Saturday child, Frank did work hard for his living, yet provided well for his family.
Frank was a member of the Greatest Generation as a World War II Army veteran having served in Japan, as a Light Mortar Gunner in Troop G, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st. Cavalry Division. Frank was a member of a 5-man mortar crew, acting as 1st Gunner trained to take all positions on the mortar. Frank was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan.

Frank was an avid fisherman with his sons and he also enjoyed skiing until his mid-seventies. Frank enjoyed watching western movies, trips to casinos, travel to the beach, dining out, his daughters’ cooking, and following golf and football favorites.
Frank is survived by his son Mark Yarasavich and his grandsons Kevin and Kenneth, and his daughters Sharon Piper and Patricia Voveris with long-time family friend Mark Hill.
Frank was a long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
A private blessing service will take place at the convenience of the family with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
