Judith Gemma Carlson, 84, of Duryea, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 25, 2025, surrounded by her family and the care of Allied Hospice. Born in Swoyersville on August 3rd, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Irene (Pallo) Evanich.

Judith was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Kingston and went on to attend college for art. She worked for 22 years at Topps Chewing Gum, later with Techneglas in Pittston, and retired from the Penguin Publishing Company in Pittston Twp.
A talented cook and passionate gardener, Judith loved flowers and took great joy in spending time outdoors. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Francis Carlson, who died in 2021, her sister Patricia Krasucki, and her parents.
Judith is survived by her children: Gerald Francis Carlson Jr and his wife Carolyn, of Wyoming; James Carlson and his wife Joan Mary of Wyoming; Zana M. Dalessandro and her husband Nicholas of Milton; and Brian Carlson, with whom she resided. She was a proud grandmother to Matthew, and Joshua Carlson, Nicholas Dalessandro, Cheyanne Miller and Nicole Li, and her 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Thomas Evavich of Swoyersville and Andrew Evavich and his wife Pat of Pittston; her sister Mary Evavich, of Swoyersville; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at 11:00am at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea with Deacon John Bankus of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Parish Church, Swoyersville officiating. Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday morning from 10am until time of service. Interment will take place at the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Swoyersville at a later date.
