Mary Claire Hetro

Mary Claire Hetro, West Pittston, passed away on August 3, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband John; parents Rosemary & Howard Adrian; triplet grandsons John, Elijah, & Andrew Washo; and brother-in-law Stanley Perkowski.

 Mary Claire is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Leah & Michael Scholtis, Bloomsburg and Amy & Jason Washo, Old Forge; grandson Timothy and granddaughter Evelyn; step granddaughter Delaney; sisters and brothers-in-law Joni Perkowski, Kingston; Rosemary & Sam Chairge, Bear Creek; Laura & John Ruby, Lake Ariel; niece Hannah Ruby, nephew JJ Ruby and wife Elizabeth, and great-niece Lucy.

The funeral will be held at Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston on Friday, August 7 at 11am. Anyone attending the funeral is requested to go directly to the church where the family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30am until the time of funeral. Burial will be private.

Mary Claire carried her many accomplishments with quiet humility. She worked hard to create a loving home for her family. Her determination, compassion, and resilience shaped many lives, and we are proud to call her mom, nono, sister, aunt, and friend.
