Robert G. Holly, 69, of Duryea, passed away on Monday September 1, 2025, at Allied Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.  He was born in Scranton on July 19, 1956, and raised in Old Forge, the son of the late Joseph and Daurice (Cleveland) Holly.

Robert was a1974 graduate of Old Forge High School and went on to earn degrees in electrical engineering and telecommunications from Penn State University.  He devoted his career to the field of telecommunications until his retirement. A proud member of the Valley Masonic Lodge #499 in West Pittston, Robert also served as Colonel of the Mid -Atlantic Shrine Association of Provost Guards.


He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cathy (Connors) Holly; his sons, John Holly of Duryea, and Robert Holly and wife Adrienne of Easton; and his cherished grandchildren, Lilly, Connor, Madelyn, and Alex, of Easton.  Also surviving are his twin sister, Rebecca Malacari of Wilkes-Barre; sisters JoAnn Betz and her husband Joseph of Old Forge, Daurice Febbo of Old Forge, Judy Storms of Old Forge and his brother Joseph Holly of West Pittston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.


Robert found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a devoted Penn State Football fan and loved watching the games alongside his faithful companion, Banshee. He will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allied Services Hospice Center, 200 Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, or to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.


Friends may call for visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.  Masonic services will be provided by members of the Valley Masonic Lodge #499 of West Pittston.
