Vincent J. Stuccio, DDS, 93, of Laflin, passed away Sunday May 24, 2026 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born in Pittston on December 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Mack Stuccio.
Shortly after, the family moved to Plymouth, where Vincent was raised with his two brothers; Dominick and Joseph and two sisters; Marie and Catherine.
At the age of 9 he became interested in Country/Western Music, by age 14 he became proficient and began playing professionally with several local bands.
He was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1949. After graduation and the start of the Korean War, he thought it was best to give up his music aspirations and look for a more stable career. He entered college in 1951 and chose Dentistry as a stable career to pursue.
In 1953 Vincent met the love of his life, Patricia Zegarski, the couple were married in 1955 and in spite of some of life’s challenges, he graduated from Temple University Dental School in 1961. On graduation day, he was sworn into the US Army Dental Corps, and given a direct Commission as 1st Lt. and assigned to Ft. Dix NJ, treating recruits who were completing Basic Training. He was promoted to Captain, and later discharged in 1963 and returned to Wilkes- Barre to open his Dental Practice.
In 1969 he was given the opportunity to join the dental staff at the VA Medical Center and after much consideration and discussion with his wife, he accepted the offer and started his new job as a Staff Dentist at the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In the years to follow he was named the President of the Luzerne County Dental Society and the President of the Wilkes-Barre UNICO Club.
In 1977 he re-enlisted in the US Army active Reserve and was given the rank of Major, in 1981, he was promoted to LtCol, and in 1983 he was promoted to Colonel and commanded the 317 Med Company in Scranton and the 1206th Dental Detachment at Picatinny Arsenal in NJ. January 1, 1996, he retired from the military with 20 years of service and shortly after retired from the VA Medical Center after 27 years of service.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ann Marie Stuccio, brother, Dr. Joseph Stuccio and sister, Marie Vassallo.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Zegarski Stuccio and their sons; Vincent Stuccio and his wife Robin, Chesapeake VA, Kenneth Stuccio and his wife Maria, McDonough GA, Christopher Stuccio and his wife, Marina, Hackettstown NJ, Scott Stuccio and his wife Kristen, Marysville, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Lauren Williams and her husband Andrew,
Chesepeake, VA and Katie Stuccio, NY, brother, Dr. Dominick Stuccio and his wife Mary, Pittston, sister, Kay Mentrikoski, Berwick, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday May 28, 2026 from 5-7PM at Adonizio Funeral Home, LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 29, 2026 at 10AM in St. Maria Goretti Church 42 Redwood Dr. Laflin.
Those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church.
The Parish Rosary Group will recite the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet at 9:30 AM, in the church.
US Army funeral honors will be bestowed following the mass.
Interment will be in Holy trinity cemetery, Nanticoke, PA.
