It is with heavy hearts and a lifetime of memories that we share the passing of Butch Shatrowskas, who at 63 has officially claimed the best seat at the great bar in the sky. If you knew Butch, you knew he lived life with the volume turned all the way up. He was the life of every room he walked into, bringing his signature singing, dancing, and booming laugh wherever he went.

From a young age, Butch understood the value of hard work. He dedicated himself fully to every task and earned a reputation as one of the best heavy‑machine operators around. His passion for hard work brought him to Danella Line Services to Dycom Industries, to Penndot and Bel Air Pools and Excavating. (most of his life, he worked 3 jobs at one time) There wasn’t a job he couldn’t — or wouldn’t — tackle. Off the clock, he was a legend of generosity and unwavering loyalty: the man who showed up before you asked, offered help before you knew
you needed it, and never let a friend buy their own drink. He lived life on his terms, traveling the world and enjoying all the best this life has to offer. No matter where he went he always wanted and got "the best". Above all, he was a deeply loyal husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and brother in law, sharing a lifetime of kindness and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Butch leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate, Kim, his partner in crime through every adventure. His spirit lives on in his daughters, Kasey (Gary) and Ally, and in his cherished grandchildren, Emmie and Eva, who will undoubtedly carry forward his zest for life. He will also be deeply missed by his parents, Barb and Butch, his sister Jackie (and dear friend Bob), his brother Jason (Courtney), his nieces and nephews, and his many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. He treasured the friendships and countless laughs he shared with his work family — many of whom he considered brothers.
While our world feels quieter without his larger‑than‑life presence, we take comfort in imagining him already holding court at the pearly gates’ happiest hour, captivating a new audience with stories only he could tell. His absence will be felt profoundly, but his memory will forever bring a smile to our faces and love to our hearts. We are so proud of all that you have accomplished, and will be forever grateful for every moment spent with you.
Services will be private, allowing his closest loved ones to share their final goodbyes. Raise a glass to Butch — he’s definitely raising one back.
