James “Bob” Coleman, Jr., 75, of Old Forge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Wilkes-Barre. Born in Throop on December 23, 1950, he was the son of the late James B. Coleman Sr. and Consetta “Connie” (Talluto) Coleman.


Bob was a member of Langcliffe Presbyterian Church in Avoca and a graduate of Throop High School, Class of 1968. He worked for more than 28 years at Haddon Craftsmen in Scranton and later retired from Ironclad Logistics in Gouldsboro, where he was employed as a truck driver. He was considered an elite truck driver with over a million miles logged without incident.


He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 863, Mountainside, NJ. Bob was also a passionate model train enthusiast and collector of O-gauge vintage and current train sets, and he was a member of the Strasburg Model Railroad Club. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Consetta Coleman.


He is survived by his beloved wife, Alberta (Shaffer) Coleman; his son, James Kelly Coleman, and his companion, Faith, of Pittston; as well as his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and his loving dog, Mia.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, 1001 Main St., Avoca, with Rev. James Hopper officiating.


Friends may call on Monday, May 18th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for services, as there will be no procession from the funeral home. Interment will follow at Langcliffe Cemetery, Avoca.
