Carol Ann (Matys) Breymeier

Carol Ann (Matys) Breymeier, 75, of Glendale, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank Anthony Matys and Margaret Barbara (Miller) Matys.

Carol was an active member of Brick United Methodist Church in Duryea and Bethel United Methodist Church in Avoca. She graduated from Pittston Area High School in 1968 and later attended Luzerne County Community College and ICS, earning a certification in travel. Carol retired from AAA in Scranton, where she worked as a travel agent for many years.

Always on the go, Carol traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader, and especially enjoyed learning about history. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Breymeier, who passed away on September 28, 2010, and her son-in-law, William Cadwalder.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Tracy Cadwalder of Duryea, and Sherri Vojack and her husband, Walter, of Archbald; her grandchildren, Caitlynn Cadwalder, Christie Harris and her husband, Mason, Jordan Cadwalder, Aaron Vojack, and Aleah Vojack; nine great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joseph Turkos; and her nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Kiesinger Funeral Services, Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.  Friends may call for visitation on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
