Janet A. Liska
Janet A. Liska, 84, of Hughestown, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, in Wesley Village, Pittston.
Born in Hughestown on April 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George Kutchkus, Sr. and Agnes (Lepo) Kutchkus.
She was a graduate of Hughestown High School and received a Licensed Practical Nursing Degree from the Smith School of Practical Nursing.
Janet was a hard worker – she was tough as nails. Janet had worked at Hess’s, K-Mart, and TJ Maxx.
She loved going shopping and out to eat with her sisters. She loved her granddog, Luna and most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Liska, Jr.; brothers Jerome Kutchkus and George Kutchkus, Jr.; and niece, Judy Panagakos.
Surviving are her children, Corrine Simon (Scott Blume), Hughestown; and Eric Liska (Marina), Jenkins Township; grandchildren Rachel Simon and fiancé Mario Adajar and Chase Liska; sisters, Judy Legg, Dallas and Mona Aruscavage (Frank), Hughestown; sister-in-law, Donna Kutchkus, Hughestown; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
